What a delightful writer Gerogette Heyer is. I laughed at the subtle antics of the ton in London where Arabella had gone from Yorkshire, as a Vicar's daughter, to stay with her Godmother who was to introduce her to society. Heyer wove a plot in the eyes of the rakish Mr Beaumaris who fell in love, against his will, with Arabella, but that lady's anger and subsequent disclosure of 'being very wealthy' was almost her undoing. A great read and read it in two days!
